About David

David began playing the Great Highland Bagpipes in his hometown of Tucson, AZ at the age of 12. He was granted a scholarship in 2003 to attend university at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio based upon the merit of his bagpipe skills. During his college years, he played in several premier North American competitive pipe bands, namely the Grade 2 North Coast Pipe Band of Cleveland, OH, the Grade 1 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band from Toronto, ON, and the Grade 1 Toronto Police Pipe Band. 

In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he joined the Grade 1 L.A. Scots Pipe Band. He competed at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland with the L.A. Scots for four consecutive seasons. In 2012, he won the amateur-level bronze medal in Grade 1 at Winter Storm in Kansas City, KS, one of the United States' most prestigious indoor piping and drumming competitions. 

David retired from competitive piping in 2015 and now focuses primarily on performance. He has toured the United States playing bagpipes at Renaissance Festivals from coast to coast. He has performed with international acts such as The Chieftains and Carlos Nunez. In 2025, he was hired to compose and perform original soundtrack music for an episode of the hit TV show Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. In addition to the occasional Hollywood gig, he has been providing live music at weddings, funerals, and other festive occasions all across Southern California since 2010.
